Bölüm Hakkında
This is the episode I told my own team I might get cancelled for, and I don't care.
For twenty years, doctors told me I had IBS. Cramps so bad I thought labour couldn't be worse. Crawling into my mum's room as a kid, thinking something was actually wrong with me. Turns out something was. Pregnant with my fourth baby, that same "IBS" turned out to be a tumour.
I'm in remission now. And since finishing chemo, my IBS hasn't just improved. It's gone. Vanished. Not managed, not "under control", gone.
Bowel cancer is now up 260% in eighteen to forty five year olds. Once you see a number like that, you can't unsee it, and once you hear my story next to it, you'll understand exactly why I can't stop talking about this.
So here's the question I'm not supposed to ask out loud: what if IBS isn't a diagnosis at all? What if it's just the label they give you when they've run out of answers, and your gut is drowning in the same ultra-processed bullshit we've all been told is normal?
I know how this sounds. I know "everything in moderation" is the thing you're about to type at me. Listen first, then tell me I'm wrong.
I also share all of my health and fitness tips over on IG @danni.duncan_ so if you want more, make sure you join me over there. Or follow the podcast over at @lifewithdanniduncan
