What does it look like to finish strong? In Nehemiah 3, we see a group of ordinary people come together to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. They weren't professional builders. They were priests, leaders, merchants, craftsmen, families, and everyday people who each chose to do their part. Some went above and beyond, while others refused to participate because they felt the work was beneath them. In this message from the Finish Strong series, we look at what Nehemiah 3 teaches us about serving, leadership, generosity, faith in action, and the importance of being part of a community. The wall was more than a physical structure. As each person worked next to the next, the work itself became "community mortar." What they were building physically was also building them spiritually. This message challenges us to ask some important questions: Are we willing to do our part? Are we willing to serve when the work isn't glamorous? Are we willing to go above and beyond when God calls us to? And are we allowing God to use the tangible things we have, including our time, resources, gifts, and abilities, to accomplish something bigger than ourselves?
