We got a treat for ya. Episode one OG guest; filmmaker, actor, musician and producer Skinner Myers is back and he's anything but asleep. Oh and by the way, he can now add "professor" to his list of achievements as he's now teaching cinema studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Skinner is currently touring the film festival circuit with his new film "The Sleeping Negro." We're not going to bother describing the plot nor the process of making "The Sleeping Negro" because it won't come close to hearing Skinner tell it...
Look there's no other way to say this so we'll just cut to the chase... Skinner is a genius. His talents are prodigious. His work is muscular and merciless. Skinner doesn't look to please. He looks to cajole, challenge and activate his audiences. His ambition is simply to redefine the language of black filmmaking. To quote Skinner: "I want to use my cinema as a weapon." ...Indeed. Please listen and be activated.
