According to a report by DigitalBits and then confirmed by Variety, Disney has entered a new partnership with Sony for distribution of all Disney physical media going forward. This means that Sony, not Disney, will oversee all future Disney DVDs, Blu-rays, and 4K UHD discs. While not stated yet, this could also include previous titles that could be released in a new format. This is a big deal for physical media collectors and could be a good thing for both companies.
