Brian Acton and Jan Kaoum started WhatsApp in 2009. With a vision of a Social media app that will be free of any ads and all the messages will be encrypted for safety purposes.  In 2014, Facebook bought WhatsApp for $19 billion, and soon they started with the app monetization. Recently Reliance Jio, the biggest telecom operator in India has launched its own video-calling platform called JioMeet to take on Zoom and other video-conferencing platforms like Google meet and Microsoft teams. The platform brings all the familiar features of Zoom in a completely free-of-cost package. But there is a hype on social media that JioMeet is a true-blue Zoom copy.
