It's a period drama/western film, a remake of the 1969 movie of the same name, and an adaptation of the novel of the same name, by author Charles Portis. True Grit tells the story of a stubborn teenager who enlists the help of a tough US Marshal to track down her father’s murderer. It also includes the most brutal on-screen horse death we've ever seen.
