<description>&lt;p&gt;As any regular person does I have a sneaky look at the guitar pedals of bands as they setup. You often see reoccurring favourites - the Boss Digital Delays, a ProcCo Rats, Big Muffs etc.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;At a recent Space Academy show my routine checkout revealed one of the most unique and beautiful collections of pedals Id ever seen - wooden pedals with big knobs and rounded edges filled the board. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Turns out that was the personal board of &lt;strong&gt;Ryan Nicol&lt;/strong&gt;, that night playing in Ōtautahi band HOIHOI and his pedal board consisted almost of pedals he’d built entirely himself.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You’ll also spot his pedals on the board of Aotearoa guitar icon &lt;strong&gt;Andrew Wilson&lt;/strong&gt; of &lt;strong&gt;Die! Die!
