Hosted by JOYs Michelle Sheppard, the This Girl Can Victoria podcast empowers LGBTQIA+ female, femme and non-binary people to get active.
Across four episodes, Michelle chats to members of the LGBTQIA+ community about how and why they get active. Whether a short walk, a swim in the pool, a day hike, a bike ride to work, or maybe you’re into more unconventional activity like roller derby or rugby, This Girl Can, Victoria is about empowering our community to get out there and give it a go, without fear of judgement.
Community sports plays such an integral role in many people’s lives across Australia and it has for many, many years. In Episode 1, Michelle will be chatting to Stella Lesic – Stella is the president and founder of the Queer Sporting Alliance (QSA), Australia and NZ’s Largest LGBTQIA+ sporting club.
Stella and Michelle chat about their passion for community sport – and why they created the incredible organisation that is QSA.
At the end of each episode, Michelle is joined by James Lolicato – co-founder of Proud2Play as well as the CEO of Pride Cup. James and Michelle will breakdown the topics discussed in the episode – and will provide tips on how YOU can get active.
