This a technical episode, but a vital one. There should exist in every language spoken by a Christian nation <em>a</em> definitive version of the Scriptures in that language, and in this episode we provide the structure and the mechanics by which that can be achieved.</p> <p>This will be a years-long project, and it will have to be undertaken by other men. Until then, we have provided links to a number of existing English translations in the show notes, <em>infra</em>. Any existing version of the LXX in English is certainly better than all of the extant copies based on the rabbinic text.</p> </div> <div class="wp-block-jetpack-markdown"> <hr> <p>Subscribe to the <a href="https://stone-choir.com/subscribe-to-podcast/">podcast here.</a></p> <hr> </div> <div class="wp-block-jetpack-markdown"> <h3>Show Notes</h3> <ul> <li>English Septuagint Translations: <ul> <li>Brenton <ul> <li><a href="https://amzn.to/4gtCze9">Hardcover</a> [English and Greek]</li> <li><a href="https://archive.org/details/septuagint-with-apocrypha.-greek-and-english-1851">PDF</a></li> </ul> </li> <li>Lexham (2nd) <ul> <li><a href="https://amzn.to/4n8c2Wv">Hardcover</a></li> <li><a href="https://www.logos.com/product/188040/the-lexham-english-septuagint-2nd-ed">Logos</a></li> </ul> </li> <li>NETS <ul> <li><a href="https://amzn.to/4moXzUJ">Hardcover</a></li> <li><a href="https://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/nets/edition/">PDFs</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Thomson">Thomson, Charles</a> <ul> <li><a href="https://archive.org/search?query=creator%3A%22Thomson%2C+Charles%2C+1729-1824%22+Holy+Bible">Archive.org PDF</a> [free]</li> <li><a href="https://www.logos.com/product/183093/the-old-covenant-commonly-called-the-old-testament-translated-from-the-septuagint">Logos</a> [not free]</li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="https://www.hchc.edu/holy-cross-dean-fr-eugen-j-pentiuc-co-editor-of-the-ancient-christian-study-bible/">The Ancient Christian Study Bible</a> (coming 2027)</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </div> <div class="wp-block-jetpack-markdown"> <h4>See Also</h4> <ul> <li><a href="https://septuaginta.uni-goettingen.de/">The Göttingen Septuagint</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="wp-block-jetpack-markdown"> <h4>Further Reading</h4> <ul> <li><a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/">Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International</a></li> <li><a href="https://chaucer.fas.harvard.edu/pages/text-and-translations"><em>The Canterbury Tales</em> in Middle English and Modern English</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="wp-block-jetpack-markdown"> <h4>Parental Warnings</h4> <p>None.</p> </div> <div> <h3>Transcript</h3> <div> <p>The transcript for this episode can be found <a class="transcript-link" href="#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a></p> <p>Other transcripts can be found <a href="/transcripts/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a></p> </div> </div> <div class="wp-block-jetpack-markdown"> <h3>Support the Podcast</h3> <ul> <li><a href="https://donate.stone-choir.com/">Recurring Donation</a></li> <li><a href="https://donate.stripe.com/dR6bMr9jTcCb4XC6oo">One-Time Donation</a></li> <li><a href="https://donate.stone-choir.com/cryptocurrency-donations/">Cryptocurrency Donation</a></li> <li>Mahler’s: <a href="https://throne.com/mahler">Throne.com Wish List</a> | <a href="https://stone-choir.com/Amazon-Mahler">Amazon.com Wish List</a></li> <li><a href="https://stone-choir.com/Amazon-Woe">Woe’s Amazon.com Wish List</a></li> <li><a href="https://shop.stone-choir.com/shop/challenge-coins/stone-choir-challenge-coin/">The Stone Choir 2024 Challenge Coin</a></li> </ul> </div> <div class="wp-block-jetpack-markdown"> <h3>Comments?</h3> <p>Join the discussion on <a href="https://t.me/StoneChoir">Telegram</a>, visit the <a href="https://stone-choir.com/feedback/">feedback form</a> or comment below.</p> </div> <p><script> function waitForElement(selector, callback) { const interval = setInterval(function() { const element = document.querySelector(selector); if (element) { clearInterval(interval); callback(element); } }, 100); // check every 100 milliseconds } function updateTranscriptLink(audioSrc) { const episodeNumber = extractNumber(audioSrc); if (episodeNumber) { const transcriptLink = document.querySelector('a.transcript-link'); if (transcriptLink) { transcriptLink.setAttribute('href', `/transcripts/transcript-episode-${episodeNumber}/`); } else { console.error('Transcript link not found.'); } } else { console.error('Episode number could not be extracted.
