Chapel in the Pines Sermon Podcast

Date: November 1, 2026 Text: Revelation 3:1-6 Wake Up Most of us don't drift away from God in one dramatic moment — we slide gradually through comfort into complacency, complacency into compromise, and compromise into a kind of spiritual coma . In this message, we look at the church in Sardis, a congregation coasting on past glory in a city famous for being caught asleep, and hear Jesus's urgent call to wake up, strengthen what remains, and recover the spiritual vitality that's still within reach.

Date: October 25, 2026 Text: Revelation 2:18-29 The pressure to compromise our faith is rarely dramatic – it comes from our own internal cravings, relational costs, and spiritual-sounding rationales that make accommodation seem reasonable. In this message, we look at the church in Thyatira and what Jesus says to believers who face the slow erosion of convictions, and why the reward waiting for those who hold fast is worth every cost of perseverance.

Date: October 18, 2026 Text: John 5:19-20 Preacher: Echo Kayser Jesus said he could do nothing on his own; he only did what he saw the Father doing. That radical dependence is the model for how we, as his followers, are meant to live. Drawing from John 5:19-20, this sermon explores what it looks like to move from treating God’s power like a boost we dial up when we need it, to a life of full reliance that depends, devotes, and demonstrates in every season.

Date: October 11, 2026 Text: Revelation 2:12-17 The church at Pergamum had passed the test of persecution —but was failing a different test, one that came not through suffering but through comfort: the slow pressure to compromise with the world around them. This sermon explores the spiritual stakes of compromise, the rationalizations that make it feel reasonable, and the rewards that make resisting it worth it.

Date: October 4, 2026 Text: Revelation 2:8-11 The church at Smyrna was suffering; and while the letter Jesus sends them doesn't promise immediate relief, it does give them four reasons to hold on: God knows what they are suffering, God has a purpose for it, God has set a limit on it, and God has a reward waiting for them on the other side. As we sit with those same four reasons today, Jesus' two commands to the Smyrnans still apply to anyone in a hard season: do not be afraid, and be faithful.
