C1 | Journey of Hope and Fear | S1EP20
Episode Summary Hallowmere is behind them, but rest does not last long. After the battle with Oryx, the party gathers what they can, tends what wounds they can reach, and prepares to move deeper into the Verdance. Meyer is still holding on somewhere near the Heartwood, and the message that comes back is simple enough: Run. The road ahead is not really a road. It is swamp gas, old memories, strange lights, half-heard voices, and a forest that seems to know exactly where to press. The Verdance offers beauty in one breath and sickness in the next. It gives the party shelter, then steals the ground out from under them. It whispers with the voices of fear, regret, and things that should have stayed buried. Along the way, old names surface. Varathus. Delric. The Black Vessel. The Heartwood. Some answers are finally close. So is whatever has been waiting there. Content Warnings Magical corruption, rot, and sickness Body horror and corrupted forest imagery Swamp gas / respiratory distress Bug swarms, bites, and insect horror Fear visions / hallucination-like experiences Panic, trauma response, and intrusive memories Confinement trauma References to torture and screaming References to death and past character deaths Eating humanoid remains / ritualized consumption Family trauma Music / SFX Licensing Music and Sound by Soundstripe, Monument Studios’ Fantasy+, and Syrinscape! https://www.soundstripe.com/ https://www.fantasyplus.app/ https://syrinscape.com/Tales_by_Daggerlight Because Epic Games Need Epic Sound! C1 | Fall of the Warden | S1E19
Episode Summary Oryx has come to Hallowmere. The first wave has broken, but the village is still surrounded, the roots are trembling, and the former warden of the First Blood is calling Basagar home. Basagar answers with fire, claw, and every ounce of rage he has been carrying since Haemawud fell. What follows is not a clean fight. It is a desperate scramble through rot, blackwater, briars, broken armor, and choices made a little too close to the blast radius. Zeph throws himself between friends and ruin. Seraphina reaches for the flame she finally remembers. Ciaran and Kua turn shadow and arrows into something surgical. Severian sees what Oryx has done to his people, and what might still be left inside the thing wearing his name. The wardens clash. And Hallowmere waits to see what survives. C1 | Clash of the Wardens | S1E18
Episode Summary Hallowmere has been warned, and this time the Mare of Echoing Roots is very clear: something is coming. The party spends the daylight turning a swamp village into a fortress. Seraphina gives the people something to hold onto. Zeph and Severian fortify the Rootbound Hall. Kua arms civilians with whatever Hallowmere can spare. And Basagar, caught between the people he came from and the people he’s choosing to protect, reaches into the Mare for help, and finds something ancient reaching back. Then the forest goes silent. Briar Warriors pour into Hallowmere from every direction, and the village answers with steel, magic, tooth, claw, and a surprising amount of weaponized swamp water. The first wave breaks. Then Oryx steps out of the trees. And he came for Basagar. C1 | Visions of the Lumora | S1E17
Episode Summary Hallowmere has shelter. It also has questions. Beneath the Chapel of the Ninefold Root, the party meets Thistle, the last of the Rosari, and finds that the Verdance has been trying to speak through rot, memory, and blackwater. The Lumora offer answers, but not gently. Zeph sees old ties tightening in Virelia. Kua finds proof that hope may still be moving inside the fallen city. Seraphina remembers fire as something other than fear. Severian sees what his people were, what they may have become, and what Oryx has taken from them. Basagar is shown a beginning he was never meant to remember. Every vision gives them something useful. Every truth takes something back. C1 | Echoing Roots | S1E16
Episode Summary The Verdance does not sleep quietly. After a night beneath the trees, Basagar wakes from a vision of rot, blood, and a voice that should not have found him. Oryx is searching. The Heartwood may be dying. And the road to Haemawud suddenly feels much shorter than anyone would like. But the forest has its own delays. The party pushes deeper into the Verdance with royal refugees, exhausted nobles, and the Ghore Bound in tow. There are old bridges, strange tracks, bad decisions, and one very important lesson about eating unidentified forest delicacies. Then a new path appears. Hallowmere waits in the blackwater.
