Description

Have you ever wondered about the true meaning of the Lord’s prayer? The Lord’s prayer is an often recited prayer that has been prayed in multiple settings. It is used in weddings, church, songs, and other special events without understanding its spiritual significance to humanity. Listen and download this show as Eliakim is joined by Dr. Rocco Errico who is a pioneer in the Aramaic understanding of the bible to discuss his book titled, “Setting A Trap For God: The Aramaic Prayer Of Jesus”. The title for this book comes from the Aramaic meaning of the word prayer: “setting your mind like a trap so that you may catch the thoughts of God”. This metaphysical look at the Lord’s Prayer is expanded from Errico’s The Ancient Aramaic Prayer of Jesus.

Dr. Errico holds Doctoral degrees in Divinity, Philosophy, and Sacred Theology and has received numerous other awards for his Aramaic work. He is a is a world renowned bible scholar, lecturer and minister. For more than 45 years he has traveled the globe teaching The Bible from the ancient Aramaic Peshitta Text and the near eastern perspective. Having studied intensively for 10 years with the late Dr. George M. Lamsa, translator of The Bible from Aramaic to English and an Aramaic speaking Assyrian he is uniquely qualified to lecture on the near eastern culture and customs as well as the Aramaic language. Presenting simple, original scriptures, free of dogma and doctrine, combined with his inspiration and humor, bible stories take on new meaning. He is the author of Setting a Trap for God, Let There Be Light, And There was Light, and Mysteries of Creation as well as The Aramaic Light Series of commentaries on both the New and Old Testaments. He is president of The Noohra Foundation, dedicated to publishing Dr. Errico’s work and the new Rocco A. Errico Institute, dedicated to preserving the Aramaic work and spreading the unique message of Aramaic scripture throughout the world.
