160: He Walked Into His Own Home, and Straight Into a Killer's Trap | The Murder of Bryan Mace

On the afternoon of April 9, 2003, a man named Carlo returned to his remote home in Midland, Virginia to find it filled with smoke. He rushed inside to save his stepson, 20-year-old Bryan Mace, and discovered him lying on the floor. Carlo managed to drag Bryan outside, but once they were clear of the smoke, he realized Bryan had been shot multiple times. He would soon learn that the house had also been burglarized. Despite an extensive investigation and possible connections to other burglaries in the area, more than 23 years later, no one has ever been charged with Bryan's murder, and his family is still searching for answers. If you have any information about Bryan’s murder, please contact the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 347-3300 or the Criminal Investigation Division at (540) 422-8650. A reward of up to $5,000.00 is available.  Editor: Shannon Keirce Research/Writing: Haley Gray SUBMIT A CASE HERE: [email protected] SOCIAL Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/detperspective/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/detperspective FIND DERRICK HERE Twitter: https://twitter.com/DerrickL Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/DerrickLevasseur Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DerrickVLevasseur CRIME WEEKLY AND COFFEE Criminal Coffee Company: https://www.CriminalCoffeeCo.com Crime Weekly:  https://crimeweeklypodcast.com/shop ADS: https://www.ForHers.com/Detective - Ready to reach your goals?
