#265 Ryan Bautista — Rusty, Red Bull, Balter & the Super Greens Brand Built by a Surf Industry Insider

This week I sat down with Ryan Bautista, and this one is for anyone who has ever wondered what it looks like to build a career by following what you love. Ryan has spent the last two decades at the intersection of surf, sport and business. He was part of the hyper growth of Rusty in Australia through the 2000s, one of the most exciting periods in Australian surf culture, before moving into athlete management with Red Bull where he worked alongside some of the biggest names in action sports. From there he moved into the WSL, helping shape the business of professional surfing, before taking his commercial skills into the craft beer world with Balter and other leading beer brands. Now Ryan has made his most personal move yet — founding Good Street, a super greens brand built on the belief that feeling good should be simple, accessible and something you actually want to do every day. This is a brilliant conversation about building a career in industries you love, knowing when to make the leap, and what it really takes to go from employee to founder. Ryan is switched on, generous and genuinely one of the good ones. In this episode we cover: Being part of the hyper growth of Rusty in Australia in the 2000s The surf industry boom and what that era taught him about business Athlete management at Red Bull and working with elite action sports talent His time at the WSL and the business of professional surfing Working with Balter and other leading beer brands Making the leap from employee to founder Building Good Street and why he started a super greens brand What it takes to launch a product brand from scratch The intersection of health, wellness and surf culture Good Street Super Greens - CODE - COOP25 - for 25% OFF https://goodstreet.com.au/ Follow Good Street Instagram https://www.instagram.com/_good_street/ Connect with Cooper Workshop and Speaking Enquiries https://form.typeform.com/to/DSPSnvEH 1% Good Club Book https://booktopia.kh4ffx.net/e1xrkr https://amzn.to/46ve1i2 Instagram https://www.instagram.com/cooperchapman/ TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@cooperchapman_ LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/cooper-chapman-08a278151/ The Good Human Factory Instagram https://www.instagram.com/thegoodhumanfactory/ The Good Human Factory https://www.thegoodhumanfactory.com THE GOOD HUMAN FACTORY™️ 2020 Hosted on Acast.
