What does it actually mean to be present?
We hear “be present” all the time... be present with your kids, in your relationships, at work, in your life...
but somewhere along the way, I think we turned presence into another thing we’re supposed to be good at.
In this episode, I’m sharing what a very ordinary solo walk taught me about presence, noticing, and letting go of the pressure to have the “right” experience.
Because being present doesn’t necessarily mean being perfectly focused, endlessly grateful, peaceful, or completely absorbed in whatever is happening.
Maybe being present means noticing what’s happening without judging yourself for experiencing it.
The beautiful things.
The uncomfortable things.
The thoughts that pop up.
The places your mind wanders.
The feelings in your body.
All of it.
We’re talking about what it might look like to create a little more room for your actual human experience... and a little less pressure to do presence “correctly.”
Because what if being present has fewer rules than we think?
