After listening to Relentless by Tim Grover, I started thinking about his three categories: Coolers, Closers, and Cleaners—and, more importantly, where I fit. In this solo episode of Shaping Success, I get into what it means to compete against yourself instead of constantly comparing yourself to everyone around you. I talk about how that mindset has shaped my career in sales, why a $10,000 sale and a $0 appointment can both be part of a successful day, and why learning to move on quickly from failure has become one of the most important lessons of my career. I also look back at high school football, basketball, and the opportunities I might have approached differently if I’d understood this mindset when I was younger. And then there’s this podcast.
