Where do you turn when the money runs out, the job ends, or you feel alone and afraid? The uncertainties of life plant seeds of fear, and when allowed to grow, they produce a harvest of anxiety and panic. This week, we find Hagar on the run, years after her initial attempt to leave Abraham and Sarah. She is plagued with fear and irrational thoughts. It’s in the desert that Hagar once again encounters God. This time, it’s the “God who provides” making Himself known. Are you desperate for your needs to be met? Over the next 4 weeks Lina will be sharing a bible teaching called “Breathe: Finding Rest in the God Who Sees.” Life can feel overwhelming—sometimes exciting, sometimes exhausting—and it’s easy to get swept up in emotions that leave us feeling unanchored. But Scripture is full of stories about people just like us, wrestling with the gap between what they see and what they feel. The story of Hagar in Genesis depicts a woman who was frantic with fear and uncertainty. She was a pawn in someone else’s game of self-control. Hagar experienced the God who sees in the midst of her wandering and His words transformed her. He offers the same for each of us – the promise that He sees us and we are not alone.

She shares four biblical principles to help you navigate an uncertain future. You may not know exactly where your life is headed, but you can choose how you build it today. Build intentionally. What happens when a few college students say YES to God? On September 14, student-athletes at the University of Toledo organized a Night of Worship and Baptism, and nearly 400 people showed up. They expected about five people to be baptized. By the end of the night, 50 had stepped into the water. “How the night came to be, was a mighty work of the Lord,” said Ben Sahakian. In this special episode, Lina talks with her nephew Ben Sahakian, one of the catalysts behind the event, about how a simple vision became a night of worship, testimonies, the Gospel, and lives changed. Living With Power had the privilege of helping sponsor the night, but this story is really about what can happen when young people are willing to step out in faith and let God do the rest. We all want our lives to mean something. We want to accomplish something, make an impact, and know that what we’re doing matters. But what does success actually look like when you follow Jesus? In this episode of the Gen Z Series, Lina talks about why biblical success is rooted in faithfulness, not achievement. She explores what Kingdom success really looks like, why our accomplishments were never meant to validate us, and how following Jesus’ example changes the way we define a successful life.
