Description
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, what did you think about the episode. did the message resonate with you?
Why do Black folks turn EVERYTHING into a function? š
Somebody says, āIām just grilling a little something,ā and two hours later there are 37 people outside, three aluminum pans, a card table nobody remembers bringing, somebody auntie controlling the Bluetooth, and at least one person asking, āWho made this mac and cheese?ā
In this episode of The Quiet Table with Mr. Hood, we get into the beautiful chaos of Black gatherings ā cookouts, birthdays, graduations, moving days, repasts, baby showers, ājust stopping by,ā and those random get-togethers that somehow turn into a full-blown event.
And you KNOW itās official when somebody pulls out a red cup, somebody says theyāre leaving but stays another hour and a half, and food starts getting wrapped up before the function is even over.
But underneath all the jokes, thereās something real here too: Black folks have always known how to make joy out of whatever weāve got. Food, music, laughter, family, friends, and a little bit of somebody being too loud in the background ā thatās community.
So pull up a chair, grab a plate before somebody takes the good piece, leave the noise⦠and letās talk about it.
