Jon and Leigh welcome Annie Carter to chat about the Parade! Like Dragon Con, the parade is a little chaotic, a bit cheeky, and always a blast. This year’s Grand Marshal is Anson Mount. He and his lovely hair will be right out front of the other entries this year that include: Helldivers 2, the official Rick Mobile, the Bloodmobile, the return of the pirate ship, Hope Atlanta, and the usual mix of old favorites and newer fandoms. The parade starts at 10 o’clock on Saturday – Get there early, but please leave space for the younglings! Jon and Leigh welcome Jonathan McFarlane and Ally Morris for a Kids Track conversation that feels very much like Dragon Con: a little chaotic, very enthusiastic, and packed with ideas for families and younger fans. The Kids Track covers a full range of family-friendly events for kids and families at the convention: crafts and paper puppets, fort building, live action Among Us, dance tutorials, magic tricks, the open family playroom, the family-friendly dance, family game night, and so much more! Jon welcomes Caro McCully to 50 Days of Dragon Con for a discussion about the history of the BritTrack at Dragon Con. The BritTrack covers everything United Kingdom including British TV, film, literature, comedy, music, and even sports! We discussed the evolution from the ‘Doctor Who Track’ to the insanely long ‘British Science Fiction and Fantasy Media Track’ and then ultimately to the ‘BritTrack’. And, of course, also cover programming the track, main events, and the Doctor Who Ball with Caro. Jon and Leigh welcome Regina Kirby back to 50 Days of Dragon Con to chat about about the role of the Senior Director of Programming. Regina reminds us that the Dragon keeps things tentative until the last moment, it juggles room assignments like Anthony Gatto (a name I totally knew before writing this), and is a balancing act that would make Simone Biles jealous. Jon and Leigh welcome Renee back for a lively 50 Days of Dragon Con conversation about the Animation track and how it keeps stretching far beyond the old idea of cartoons as Saturday-morning-only entertainment. The Animation track generally covers Western-style animation – the big studios, the indie stuff, TV, and film. We discuss all of the fun stuff the track is doing this year: the Cartoon Bebop Lounge, the Hell of a Boss / Hazbin-style singalong, panels, indie animation, voice actors, and so much more!
