Creston Bloody Mary Battle: Where the Drinks Compete and the Cows Decide | Up+Adam

Lisa Miller and Alex Cook from the Creston Women’s Club join Adam to preview the second annual Bloody Mary Battle, Burritos & Bovine Bingo, happening October 3rd from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Creston Rodeo Grounds. Top Bloody Mary makers from across the Central Coast will battle for Judge’s Choice, Crowd Favorite, and Best Presentation, with everything from classic and spicy pours to gloriously over-the-top garnishes. Lisa and Alex also explain why the competition is open to more than bars and restaurants, and how book clubs, families, friend groups, and anyone with a serious Bloody Mary game can jump in. And then there is Bovine Bingo. Yes, it is exactly what it sounds like. A field is divided into numbered squares, one cow enters, and wherever the first plop lands determines the winner. Beneath all the fun is a bigger purpose. The Creston Women’s Club uses fundraising like this to support scholarships, youth programs, senior support, community events, and direct assistance for local residents. In the interview, Lisa and Alex also talk about the special sense of community that makes Creston feel unlike anywhere else on the Central Coast. The day also includes live music from Peach and the Jam, Creston Men’s Club burritos, local vendors, wine, beer, games, and plenty of reasons to make an afternoon of it. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. The event is 21+, and no pets are allowed.
