Looking at Noah, Lot, Moses, Elijah, and ultimately Jesus, we explore the tension between protecting yourself from destructive influences and refusing to give up on people too quickly. When is it right to step back? When are we called to stay, intercede, and fight for someone? And how do we enter another person’s brokenness without being pulled into it ourselves? At the heart of the conversation is the example of Moses — a man willing to identify with a broken people — and Jesus, the perfect Mediator who comes down, stays with us, and never stops working for our restoration.
