What a Great God: The Daniel Etter Podcast

In Galatians 4:4-7, Paul shows that when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son to redeem slaves and make them sons and heirs. Walk through redemption's plan, accomplishment, and result, and leave marveling at what a great God.

Pastor Daniel walks through Luke 11:14–26, where Jesus confronts accusations that He casts out demons by Satan’s power, to show what real spiritual warfare looks like versus a merely “presented” Christian life. Along the way, he unpacks the difference between calling Jesus your Savior and actually submitting to Him as Lord. And warns against a swept-clean, outwardly religious life with nothing changed on the inside.

Temptation doesn’t come from God. It is drawn from the desires already in our own hearts, and left unchecked it leads to sin and death. But James 1:12-18 shows that the only way to endure it isn’t sheer willpower; it’s a love for Jesus deep enough to outweigh what temptation offers, because He endured the cross out of love for us first.

Working through Psalm 127, this message names the quiet exhaustion so many people carry. Consider the early rising, the late nights, the anxious striving to build and protect a life on their own strength. It traces that toil back to the curse in Eden and forward to Christ, who alone builds without vanity and gives His beloved true rest.

Jesus’ disciples watched Him pray and wanted the same. So in Luke 11:1-13 He teaches them (and us) that true prayer starts with approaching God as Father, not ordering from a menu. He calls us to persistent, dependent prayer, promising that the greatest answer isn’t changed circumstances but the gift of His own Spirit.
