When God's Word Is Sweet and Bitter | Revelation 10 | Part 17
Welcome to Woody! What happens when God’s Word challenges us as well as comforts us? In this message, Pastor Josh explores Revelation 10 and the powerful picture of a little book that tastes sweet in the mouth but bitter in the stomach. Through John’s vision, we’re reminded that God remains in control, even when life feels uncertain or difficult. His purposes are not undone by the storms we face, and although we may not understand his timing or have answers to every question, we can learn to trust his character and remain faithful. The message also invites us to think about how we approach the Bible. It’s more than information to learn or discuss; it’s something to receive, live out and allow to transform our character, decisions and relationships. God’s Word brings the sweetness of grace, hope and forgiveness, but it can also challenge us to change. Finally, we’re encouraged to share what we’ve received with others, speaking truth with both conviction and compassion. Following Jesus isn’t about having all the answers or controlling how people respond; it’s about living faithfully and showing God’s love in everyday life. Whether you’re exploring Christianity or have followed Jesus for years, join us as we discover what it means to trust God, receive his Word and live it out.If you have questions about faith or would like prayer, we’d love to hear from you. Why Doesn't Everyone Turn Back to God? | Revelation 8 and 9 | Part 16
Welcome to Woody! What does it take for us to turn back to God? And why do warnings sometimes fail to change our hearts? In this message, Stuart takes us through Revelation 8–9, exploring some of the Bible’s most challenging and vivid imagery. The seven trumpets reveal a picture of God’s judgement on evil and injustice, reminding us that God is in control and that our choices have real consequences. Yet even in these difficult passages, we see something important: God is patient, leaving room for people to turn back to him. Stuart explores how the warnings in Revelation echo the plagues of Egypt and how they challenge us to think about the state of our own hearts. Fear might get our attention, but it cannot transform us on its own. As Romans 2:4 reminds us, it is God’s kindness that leads us to repentance. At the heart of this message is the hope we find in Jesus. Through his death on the cross, we are offered forgiveness and rescue from judgement. We are also reminded that our prayers matter, and that we can bring the injustice and suffering we see in the world before God. Whether you are exploring Christianity or have followed Jesus for years, this message invites you to reflect, respond to God's kindness and trust in the hope found in Christ. If you have questions about faith or would like someone to pray with you, we would love to hear from you.
