Who is On Your Throne? | Revelation 4 | Part 12

Welcome to Woody! What do we do when life feels chaotic and the future is uncertain? Revelation 4 gives John a different perspective. Instead of first showing him the troubles happening on earth, God opens a door into heaven and invites him to look up. What John sees is a throne, with God seated upon it. Revelation 4 reminds us that although the world may shake, God's throne has not moved. He is still holy, sovereign and worthy of worship. The chapter points us towards God's authority, his faithfulness and his mercy, while reminding us that our circumstances don't always tell the whole story. The message then leads us towards Revelation 5, where John sees Jesus as both the Lion and the Lamb — the powerful King who gave himself for us. Our hope isn't simply that God is powerful, but that the God who reigns is also a God who loves us. So, when you're worried about your family, your future, your work or simply trying to understand what God is doing, perhaps the invitation is to look up and remember who is on the throne.
