The cross country move from Portland to Buffalo, and the holidays happened. It's beyond time to get caught up.
This week, it's a throwback kind of comeback: Listen to the recording of the live taping of local Portland pod, Village Vibes Podcast featuring guest, and HGP host and executive producer, Tiara Darnell. This live show took place in December at the launch party for High, Good People.

Is the word "marijuana" racist? Some say it is. Some say it isn't. Who's right?
Should we ditch marijuana altogether and just use the Greek and Latin derived "cannabis" instead? Or is that cultural erasure?
And what's up with Harry Anslinger, the first federal drug czar? He's often cited as the racist bureaucrat who weaponized and racialized marijuana the word and the plant at the expense of Black and Brown communities. But where'd he get those ideas from in the first place?
In this episode Tiara seeks answers from the Latinx community, including Portland-based graphic designers, Savina Monet, and Yvonne Perez Emerson of Make & Mary, as well as Dr. Isaac Campos, Associate Professor of History at the University of Cincinnati and author of the book, Home Grown: Marijuana and the Origins of Mexico’s War on Drugs.
