Episode 128: Freddie As F.R.O.7. featuring Bitter Karella
Bitter Karella, author of Quaint Folk, is with us for our last round of treats during this season of tricks and it's a nightmare: Fredie as F.R.0.7. (1992). Granted, there may have been some crossed wires here, but we are indeed watching a children's(?) animated film directed by Jon Acevski and starring the voice talent of Ben Kingsley, Jonathan Pryce, Brian Blessed, and, if you've seen the attempt at salvaging this abomination by removing all the sexuality and fascism, James Earl Jones. The insanity of this one might be apparent from the fact that the acronym for this James Bond spoof not only mixes letters and numbers, it still chooses to put periods after the numbers. Also, it technically has music, and that's the most generous we'll be. It's not for anyone, but wow is it hard to take your eyes off the thing once it starts. It's sort of glorious in how truly terrible it is, and we're once again getting a belly ache from all this delicious cinematic candy. You can too? Tune in!
