In The Beginning God's Eternal Plan | Monty Plummer
When you look at the grandeur of the universe, it’s easy to feel small, but God designed you with incredible intention. In this message, Ps. Monty kicks off the series "God's Eternal Plan" by exploring how the Creator of the stars placed eternity in our hearts and created each of us on purpose. ====================== IN THE BEGINNING GOD’S ETERNAL PLAN Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, without the possibility that mankind will find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. Genesis 1:1-5 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (2) The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. (3) Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. (4) And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. (5) God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day. Genesis 1:14-18 Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years. (15) Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth.” And that is what happened. (16) God made two great lights—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars. (17) God set these lights in the sky to light the earth, (18) to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 1) GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS Genesis 15:5 Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” Psalm 8:3-4 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, (4) what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? 2) GOD CREATED THE EARTH 3) GOD CREATED HUMANS Genesis 1:27 So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Psalm 139:13-14 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. (14) Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. 2 Timothy 1:9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. ====================== CONNECT GROUP QUESTIONS: So many conditions have to be "just right" for life to exist on earth. How does that affect your view of God as creator? Genesis 1:27 says you are made in the image of God. How does this change how you see yourself? How does it feel to know God made you with care? What is a good thing do you think God has prepared for you to do? ====================== Connect with us: Web: mylifehouse.com Instagram: instagram.com/lifehouseglobal/ Facebook: facebook.com/lifehouseglobal Other Podcasts: Want to listen to our messages in other languages? The Joy of Following Your Life's Assignment | Rod Plummer
Navigating life’s biggest decisions doesn't have to be overwhelming when you walk with God. In this week’s message, Ps. Rod shares how balancing God’s Word and the Holy Spirit provides clear direction for your current steps and long-term calling. ============== THE JOY OF FOLLOWING YOUR LIFE’S ASSIGNMENT Psalm 119:105 NIV Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. You need ... "The two wheels of a bicycle" A. The Word of God Psalm 119:105 NIV / 詩篇 119:105 新改訳2017 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. B. Jesus leading us by the Holy Spirit Romans 8:14 John 10:27 Too much Word and no Spirit = We dry up! Too much Spirit and no Word = We blow up! Healthy Balance of Word and Spirit = We grow up! THE JOY OF KNOWING: WHO ARE YOU? THE JOY OF DISCOVERY: GIFTS, PASSION, TEMPERAMENT, SEASON Proverbs 4:18 NIV The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. TODAY’S FINAL POINT: “THE PATH AND THE LIGHT” Psalm 119:105 NIV Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. “A lamp for my feet,” my present moment “A light on my path.” - my assignment in life A LIGHT TO HIS PATH (ASSIGNMENT) Galatians 1:15 NKJV When God was well pleased... to reveal His Son in me, that I might proclaim him among the nations. 1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV / 1コリント13:12 ERV For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. A LAMP TO HIS FEET - (GUIDANCE OF THE WORD AND THE HOLY SPIRIT) Acts 16:6-10 NIV Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. (7) When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to. (8) So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas. (9) During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” (10) After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. THE MOVEMENT OF PAUL’S GUIDANCE HELPS US TODAY FINAL THOUGHT: JESUS IS HELPING US ALL ALONG THE PATH Philippians 1:6 NIV Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. ============== CONNECT GROUP QUESTIONS: When making important decisions in life, what do you usually base your decisions on? Paul was prevented from going to Asia but was led to Macedonia instead. Have you ever experienced a door closing in your life? Did you come to understand why later on? What’s My Calling? | Richard Welsh
You can't truly understand your purpose until you get to know the Creator who designed you. This week, Ps. Richard shares how knowing Jesus unlocks our true calling and transforms even our weakest moments into opportunities to lead, as we learn what it means to build a strong personal relationship with God! =============== WHAT’S MY CALLING? John 10:10b NIV I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Matthew 16:15-16 NLT Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” CALLING BEGINS WITH KNOWING JESUS Matthew 16:18 NLT Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. John 15:5 NLT "Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. JESUS KNOWS OUR WEAKNESS YET STILL CALLS US TO LEAD Luke 22:31–32 NLT “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:33–34 NLT Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you.” But Jesus said, “Peter, let me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.” OUR CALLING IS TO SERVE THE PEOPLE JESUS LOVES John 21:17 NLT A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.” =============== CONNECT GROUP QUESTION: Calling begins with knowing Jesus. How is your relationship with Jesus going right now? Peter denied Jesus three times yet Jesus still called him. How does that encourage you? Jesus asked Peter “do you love me?” three times. If Jesus asked you that today, how would you answer? Who is one person you can “feed” or care for this week? ============== Connect with us: Web: mylifehouse.com Instagram: instagram.com/lifehouseglobal/ Facebook: facebook.com/lifehouseglobal Other Podcasts: Want to listen to our messages in other languages? Don't Waste The Gift | Monty Plummer
God has entrusted each of us with unique gifts, but true purpose begins when we faithfully use what’s in our hands. In this week’s message, Pastor Monty shares how stewarding our gifts with a good and faithful heart frees us from comparison and launches us into a fruitful, purpose-filled life. ========================= DON’T WASTE THE GIFT Matthew 25:14-15 NIV “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. (15) To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. WE ALL HAVE BEEN GIVEN A GIFT Matthew 25:16-18 NIV The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. (17) So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. (18) But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. WE ALL MUST LEARN TO STEWARD THE GIFT Matthew 25:19-23 NIV “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. (20) The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ (21) “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ (22) “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ (23) “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ GOOD FAITHFUL CHARACTER > COMPETENCE Matthew 25:24-30 NIV “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. (25) So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ (26) “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? (27) Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. (28) “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. (29) For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. (30) And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ ========================= CONNECT GROUP QUESTIONS: What is one gift or talent you feel God has given you? The servant who buried his talent was afraid. What fear might be stopping you from using your gifts? The master said “well done, good and faithful servant.” What does faithfulness look like for you this week? What is one small step you can take to use your gift more? ========================= Connect with us: Web: mylifehouse.com Instagram: instagram.com/lifehouseglobal/ Facebook: facebook.com/lifehouseglobal Other Podcasts: Want to listen to our messages in other languages? Know Your Identity to Walk in Your Purpose | Masashi Shibuya
Did you know that you were created on purpose for a purpose? In this week’s message, Ps. Masashi teaches us how discovering our true identity in Christ allows us to overcome fear, step past our excuses, and walk in the great plans God has for our lives. ==================== KNOW YOUR IDENTITY TO WALK IN YOUR PURPOSE CHOSEN BEFORE CREATION Jeremiah 1:4-5 NIV The word of the Lord came to me, saying, (5) "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." IDENTITY COMES FROM GOD, NOT FROM OUR ABILITIES Jeremiah 1:6-8 NIV "Alas, Sovereign Lord," I said, "I do not know how to speak; I am too young." (7) But the Lord said to me, "Do not say, 'I am too young.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. (8) Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the Lord. Ephesians 2:10 NLT m For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. LET GOD TOUCH YOUR FEAR Jeremiah 1:9-10 NIV Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, "I have put my words in your mouth. (10) See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant." 1 John 4:18-19 NIV There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (19) We love because he first loved us. YOUR IDENTITY HELPS YOU BECOME BEACON OF HOPE Jeremiah 29:11 NIV For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. John 1:5 NIV The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. In the darkest moment, he was a beacon of hope and light ==================== CONNECT GROUP QUESTIONS: Where do you tend to look for your identity — your job, achievements, or what others say about you? Jeremiah felt too young and unqualified. Have you ever felt that way? How does God’s response to Jeremiah encourage you? Ephesians 2:10 says you are God’s masterpiece. How does that change the way you see yourself? What is one way you can carry the kingdom into your life this week, even if things are hard? ==================== Connect with us: Web: mylifehouse.com Instagram: instagram.com/lifehouseglobal/ Facebook: facebook.com/lifehouseglobal Other Podcasts: Want to listen to our messages in other languages?
