Reading God’s Word: Luke 2:25-52; Psalm 48
Memorizing God’s Word: Ephesians 5:2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Meditating on God’s Word: Luke 2:29-30 “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation…”
Praying God’s Word: “Lord Jesus, Simeon’s prayer at the sight of his Messiah carries incredible meaning as we enter Holy Week. Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, when you entered Jerusalem triumphant and lowly. By Thursday, you stood silent before your accusers. Friday, on the darkest day in history, you willingly bore the cross for my sin. The silence of Saturday was deafening, with every hope buried in the tomb. But Sunday—that glorious, eternity-changing, hell-trembling Sunday—you rose victorious! And in all of this we say, ‘Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, our eyes have seen your salvation!’ Like Simeon, move us by your Spirit to behold our Savior. Amen.”
